  Mr. Eungu Kim, representative patent attorney of our firm, delivered a presentation titled “Success and Failure Cases of Standard-Essential Patent Development in Universities and Research Institutes” at the GISC jointly hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Intellectual Property Office on November 4, 2025. The main points of the presentation are as follows. 1) Update on the status of 3GPP essential patent development presented by H university in 2024 2) Sharing experiences 3GPP essential patent at other university and research institutes in 2024 and 2025 3) Presenting limitation of 3GPP essential patent at universities and research institutes and ways to overcome them. The session drew significant attention from participants, providing valuable insights into how universities and research institutes can effectively engage in global standardization activities. |
